Reason for selection:
SUS304A and
SUS329J4L have been adopted to build the Water Tower of Shikishima Water
Purification Plant, Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture.
The former old
Water Tower of the plant was built in 1929, was designated as a registered tangible
cultural property and served as a symbol in the Shikishima Park regarded with
affection by residents. But as it was antiquated, construction of the present Water
Tower was started in 2019 and the facility became operational in February 2021.
An all-stainless
steel tank has been adopted for this new Water Tower, with consideration given to
durability and anti-quake property. It is 33.7 meters high and the third
highest stainless steel water distribution facility in Japan.These
days, the Water Tower is incorporated in the field trip course for the fourth
graders of grade schools of Maebashi City, making contributions in a social aspect
as well.
